Mendocino Color Projects Summer Workshop
I am excited to announce that I will be teaching a three day Color Projects Workshop, on location, in the Mendocino area July 21 through July 23, 2024. As this is our first location workshop, enrollment will be limited to only three or four people, besides myself.
The reason I have selected Mendocino in the summer is that it is relatively close to San Francisco, has unique architecture, and on most days, there will be a mix of both fog and sun. This allows for studying both color and contrast variation throughout the day. The area around Mendocino is rocky ocean coastline, rivers meeting the sea and coastal forests, that lends itself to landscape, architectural landscape, macrophotography and location portraiture.
This location workshop will primarily be oriented towards location photographers, or those who want to further refine their skills working with available light, or available light/strobe. The goal will be to work on a specific project for three days in differing lighting regimes, and then doing a final edit, after post-production. There will be nightly sessions to review your projects.
This three day Mendocino Area workshop will cost $750.00 per person. Students get a 50% discount, at $375.00 per person. This does not include lodging, breakfast or dinner. I will take care of lunch. Getting to Mendocino is also your responsibility. If you are flying in from out of town, you may be able to drive up with me. The most reasonable lodging in the area is in Ft. Bragg, the next town immediately north of Mendocino. Hopefully, I can negotiate a discounted rate with a local motel. When I know more, you will know more.
